My dogs have taken to barking into an unused room across from my living room (I live on the second floor of my dad’s house). This is really starting to freak me out as it happens more and more frequently. The other day one of them was in all out attack the intruder mode.

My mom believes my cousin that just committed suicide is trying to speak to her. I just told her to use her phone to try to get an EVP. Seriously, if he has something to say, she might as well try it.

While watching the TLC special on Jani and her family, I developed an interest in the question of influence of the paranormal on those with mental illness. I was struck by the early onset of schizophrenia in both Jani in her brother, and began to wonder if a paranormal presence within the family home could be responsible as an early trigger for the disease. I also wonder if those with schizophrenia are able to better perceive paranormal events around them, as they often experience a reality that is altered from what is considered typical. These events they perceive would then be classed with their other hallucinations.
